USTA Middle States is pleased to welcome Wanzell Flemming as an intern at the Valley Forge office. Wanzell will work primarily in the Marketing and Communications Department, but will gain valuable experiences in all areas of the Middle States Section.
Wanzell is from Phoenixville Pa. and is currently a senior at West Chester University. He is majoring in Professional Studies with minors in health and education.
He was a member of the West Chester mens’ tennis team. On the team he was primarily a doubles specialist, playing second doubles. In his senior year he went 15-6 with his doubles partner Cody Leimback. The few times he did play singles, he went 2-0.
Wanzell will be graduating in December with his bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies. After graduation, Wanzell would like to continue a career in tennis, whether it is teaching or working in the tennis industry. Wanzell is also a certified PTR professional teaching pro, and teaches private lessons and clinics.
As with many tennis players, Wanzell loves sports. His favorite football team is the Eagles, and he also likes the Flyers and the Phillies as well. Along with interning with the USTA, Wanzell will be taking two summer classes, and will be returning as a head lifeguard at the Phoenixville YMCA. He also plans on going to the beach with his friends this summer in Dewey Beach, Del.
