Hello, tennis enthusiasts!
My name is Justin, and I’ll be offering my unique tennis stories and insight to the Middle States Blog throughout the summer.
I’m a PTR Certified Teaching Professional, Tennis Program Manager and freelance writer based in the Philadelphia District (after spending the last two years as an expat guidance counselor and copywriter in the Czech Republic).
Tennis is a sport that has fueled my competitive spirit. It’s made me laugh and cry, feel enlightened, honored, privileged, and motivated. It’s helped me obtain prestigious internships and jobs, given me opportunities and fueled my ideas. I’m excited to see what tennis will do for my personal and professional development in the future, but for now, I just like to write about it while actively promoting and developing it.
My roots are strong in the Philadelphia district, ranging from my days as a junior USTA tournament player, high school singles player, Division 1 college player, Tennis on Campus Club Founder, USTA intern/collegiate board member/league coordinator, Junior Program Director, Teaching Professional, and now as a Program Deputy/Assistant Director.
I’ll be weighing in on things ranging from the inner game of tennis, how the sport relates to the “uncertainties” of being a young adult, the professional game, my perceptions of the tennis world after spending time as a resident of Central/Eastern Europe, and much more.
I hope you enjoy my additions to this wonderful blog! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at phillyteamtennis@gmail.com
