All About Teamwork
An official for five years, JD Whyte got his start at the Cryan Tournament, before beginning to officiate USTA League Tennis two years ago. He doesn’t stop there, as he also officiates at the high school level, NJSIAA and ITC College matches.
Whyte has been playing tennis all of his life. He started in fourth grade and now even plays in a few leagues himself, when he isn’t officiating.
So what keeps him coming back?
“Just being a part of the whole tennis community,” he said. “The teamwork part of it is great. And you get to meet some really good people in the sport.”
