USTA Middle States on Sunday kicked off the first of three 10 and Under Tennis demonstrations at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, home of Philadelphia Phillies AAA-affiliate, Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Middle States is a co-sponsor of the IronPiglets Kids Club, and is scheduled to showcase youth tennis to a new audience at three IronPigs home games this season.
It was a beautiful day for tennis, and baseball, as a sellout crowd packed the stadium. Westend Racquet Club led the 10 and Under Tennis demonstration close to the entrance, and those who signed up for USTA First-Year Free memberships were entered to win a 10 and Under Tennis starter package from Gamma.
A highlight of the day at the ballpark was the on-field promotion featuring 10 and Under Tennis players from Westend Racquet Club. Prior to the start of the game, the players put their tennis skills on display in the outfield for the IronPigs fans. IronPigs mascots, FeRROUS and FeFe, joined in on the fun, as well.
Middle States will be back in action at the ballpark on Sunday, June 3 when the IronPigs host Pawtucket at 1:35 PM. Any USTA member who renews their membership at the game will receive an IronPigs ticket voucher to be used a later date.
