Nearly 700 kids in grades K-6 came together on Sunday, May 20 at Central Park in Doylestown, Pa. for the annual iRun4 Life Kids Only 3K, the flagship event of non-profit youth running organization iRun4Life.
But aside from running, there was something else significant at the event.
Kids and their parents dropped by the USTA Middle States Net Generation table throughout the morning to take aim at a ball target, and to discuss local opportunities to play. Individuals learned about Net Generation, which, brings together kids of all skill levels and ages, and connects them to a national community of parents, coaches, players, teachers and volunteers.
iRun4Life, Inc., which began its running program in 2008, is a non-profit organization combatting childhood obesity through running. Its Kids Only 3K, now in its ninth year, brought together kids from schools across the area, including Central Bucks and Council Rock elementary schools.
